Fall is finally here! It’s time to stage your home to match the warm, cozy vibes this season brings every year. Incorporate vibrant reds, burnt oranges, and musty yellows into your home this season. Staging your home for the fall season can help create a welcoming space for those potential buyers and allow them to visualize their future life in this home. Doing this will set your property apart from the rest in the buyer’s minds. Here are some tips for staging your home for the fall season.
INCORPORATE AUTUMN COLORS
The heat of summer is beginning to diminish and cooler weather will soon be here. Whether or not you live in an area that experiences the beauty of fall foliage, we are all beginning to decorate for this beautiful time of the year. Autumn is the time when leaves change from their normal green state, to hues of reds, yellows, oranges, and browns as the weather starts to cool down. So incorporate harvest colors like maroon, scarlet, gold, bronze, and amber throughout the house to give each space a warm fall feeling.
SEASONAL THROW PILLOWS
Simple throw pillows can automatically add that fall feeling to any room in the house. Pull inspiration from the fall landscape when deciding which pillows to add to your couches & chairs. Pillows with pops of color and texture will create inviting spaces for your buyers to come into. Stores like Target, T.J.Maxx and HomeGoods have great, affordable pillows that will be perfect for staging this season.
Who doesn’t love a big cozy blanket? Just the sight of one makes you want to curl up on the couch with a hot cup of cider and enjoy those Halloween movies you’ve been waiting all year for. That’s the kind of visualization you want to create for your buyers as they take a look at your property. By adding a textured or faux fur blanket to your couch or comfy chair is a great way to welcome the cooler weather and bring out those warm & cozy feelings in your home.
DIY decor is my go to! It’s a simple, easy and affordable way to make some super cute decor to incorporate throughout your living spaces. I found some great ideas using inexpensive items you can find at the dollar store or even in your own yard. Combine a few pine cones, some chestnuts and a set of string lights into a clear vase for an inexpensive yet impressive center piece display. Here’s another idea for the perfect autumn display. Simply grab a large cornucopia and add some flowers, cranberries and a couple apples. That’s it! Be creative and have fun with it!
Finish off your seasonal staging by incorporating the fall aromas throughout your home. Now that we have the visual aspects down, lets attract our buyers through the sense of smell. Everyone loves a good smelling home! You gotta love finally breaking out your favorite pumpkin spice or apple cinnamon candles. Melting cinnamon sticks or even using oil infusers are great was to your home smell AMAZING this season. Remember, keep it subtle by running one consistent scent throughout the house.
Utilizing these fall staging techniques will increase buyer appeal and help you get your home sold before the holidays. Your potential buyers will feel right at home thanks to the warm and cozy environment you created for them.
